Sibelius plug-ins

There are many people still using Sibelius and while I would in no way recommend it anymore to new users, those who have already purchased it should use it to its full benefit.

A knowledge of which plugins are available, and what they do is essential to getting the most out of your version of Sibelius. There really is a wealth of available plugins, so please take a look at them.

This can have a profound effect on, and greatly improve, your composing and engraving efforts.

In Sibelius, plug-ins are extra features created using a programming language called ManuScript.

There are two kinds of plugins--shipping plugins which come with Sibelius, and downloadable plugins usually written by Sibelius users

Sibelius ships with about 150 plug-ins. These plug-ins are documented in the Sibelius Reference, and a list. for example, of the shipping plugins that come with Sib 6 is here:

'Sib. 6.2: Alphabetical (by name) List of Plugins Shipping in Sibelius 6 with Categories'

.

The current list can be sorted by name, author, or category, and also, you can use the Search box to find a plugin if you know even a part of its name.

In Sibelius 7 and later, you can install plug-ins with File > Plug-ins > Install Plug-ins. You will need to know the category of the plug-in to find it for installation.

For instructions on installing these plug-ins in Sibelius versions prior to 7, please see: http://www.sibelius.com/download/plugins/index.html?help=install

Last updated on May 14, 2018. There are 535 plug-ins on the page.

  • Is there a plug-in to help one compose without any prior knowledge of the actual craft of music, you know like a preset of some sort. It'd save time and if I use it without any semblance of consideration for anything musical, it might, just might lead to originality - sort of a fast track if you will.

So youre looking for a plugin for you to try and be original--am I understanding you correctly?

No, sorry..not that I know of..

  • no you are not understanding me correctly.

  • BTW and apologies for going off-topic, but why do you click like on your own thread? I've never seen that behaviour in any other poster, is it to do with likes received or something?

Back on topic though with that Lexicon Sonate, why is there only one preset for colour, namely Brown Chord? There are so many colours in the world, is that the freebie version? Are there in-app purchases like 'Purple Boulez', red through orange counterpoint  and 'lack of craft green'? Could you imagine the originality to be had pushing those bad presets?

  • Im trying--though recently I must be honest and admit I find your posts unclear..and even vague, sorry to say--

for example, just like the one about the "some great composer talking to another great composer about some great work" where the quote doesnt seem to exist...

I didnt understand that one either, but Im REALLY trying!! :)

Did you ever finally find that quote thru Google to clarify it?

And I thought I answered this one about the plugin already--but let me try again.

You want to be more original and aksed if theres a plugin to help-

Theres no plugin to help you be more original, though I agree its a needed one, for many and perhaps you might contact Bob Z about making one for you..he's the plugin master...

    Does that help?
