Sending your music to A-list vocalists

I'm a composer and singer-songwriter. Although I do perform my own songs, my real dream is to write music to be performed by other amazing artists who I feel would do the song far better justice vocally, and of course production wise.

My questions is: How do I sell/pitch my songs to A-list popular artists? How does one make their way into that network? Do I need to record the song as best as possible myself and then try to send it out to be taken up? 

I may be aiming really high but I figure, nothing to loose in trying! Any information or discussion would be great, thanks!

    As you know, top artists probably never see most of the tunes people send to them. You may have better luck with lesser singers who may be looking for good material. Also sending inquiries to record labels and publishers can't hurt. And keep sending them.

    As far as doing you own recordings? Digital recording on your laptop with a decent mic can be very good.  Recording yourself is a good skill to learn anyway. If you multi-track, wonderful things can be done.

    Hey Victor, thanks for responding to my question. Well I'm both a solo performing artist as well as a composer, so I'm kinda juggling between a few different avenues in a career in music. I love to write songs and perform them, but some songs I write have very strong vocal lines that I just don't have the voice to perform at there best. Some of my songs I feel are very strong and I would love to see them sung by an already established artist. I want to know what steps I need to take to get my songs heard by big industry professionals.

    Victor, never say you will get very little help on this forum. You never truly know who is on here and the connections they have.

    On the question of networking, you'll get very little help on this forum as it's active members are mainly navel-gazers. Being here is my guilty pleasure LOL

    Just continue putting your music out there and who knows where it will take you.
