Reborn - Music

Hey guys,

This is a track that I've been working on for the past week or so. I'm planning on putting in some vocal accompaniment. The guitar is a proxy for the vocals right now.

I'd like your take on it. I do not have a PDF, because I don't know how to write/read sheet music. I apologise. I'm learning as fast as I can.

  • The drums were the best part, the piano has way too much reverb and your string lines sound more like you are simply playing a keyboard than how real string players would play each line. Every time you have "long notes" swell to a louder dynamic then back down for example.
  • Oh thank you! I'll work on the strings and the piano. :))

  • Hello Niranjan,

I found some interest in this, particular the opening piano part. But it feels raw, like a piece that is not fully formed. Also, it just stops, there isn't really an ending.

  • Thank you for your critique :)
Yeah, it's not a refined piece. Far from it. I always try to get critique at the halfway point, which I believe I had reached with the vocals proxy. :)

  • There's a celesta and a piano. I don't have a keyboard. I don't know how you play a keyboard. All of it is done in FL Studio. Yes there are two kinds of drums. A taiko and snares.

Ah, thank you :) No I am not done with it. As mentioned before: far from it. I' only halfway through it.

I put a reverb because of that exact reason, but apparently, my output gain was too much.

Yes, there is a proper backstory, but it is not apparent, because in music, I play with the names of the tracks. It's actually about a guy's journey to find the 'perfect girl' and his desperation and then he finds her one day. Very simple, cheesy story,

There isn't a *set* theme as such, because it's all in the lyrics, which I've written. I'm gonna record in November, which is a far way away.

Am I correct that I hear two keyboards (one piano and one playing string parts) and two kinds of drums?

I like the chord progression and what you have done with it so far. I get the feeling you are not quite done with it.

I suspect you put so much reverb on the piano because you were trying to add some depth to the sound. What is your goal with this piece? Does it tell a story? What do you want the listener to come away with?

    Thanks for posting this.
