One instrument vs all other

Hi all. I'd like to share my latest composition. Basically it's an orchestral piece with its melodies, themes, accompaniments, etc., but on certain parts, a somewhat alienated recorder tune chips in, trying to make a statement, or even cries it out, voicing the piece title, like a solicitation. It even ends it with a similar gesture. Who knows if it finally gets the attention it's seeking the whole through. I would like to know your opinion about it.

  • Hi Sam,

Lovely and peaceful introduction, and then the flowing melody is very sensual.

I love the sounds you created.

This feels like a mystery broadway piece, and it is very enjoyable.

Your work is sophisticated and probably took you hours to record.

I am not noticing the alienated recorder sound.

The whole production is very nice, very professional!

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi Rene,

Thanks so much for listening and commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed the piece. I think it took about a week or two to compose and record it. It probably because the recorder tune is still within the key range which makes it sound "unalienated", but I wanted to introduce the idea, which probably could resonate in real life, if any (I'm sure there's a lot of examples, if you know what I mean).

      Regards,
      Sam
