A Romance to the verses by A. BLOK
from the vocal cycle "White Nights".
Music is pretty simple but atmposheric.
Soloist - Ekaternia POGORELETS.
Video from Glinka's Music Competition, Togliatti, Russia.
Text (translated and adapted from Russian, pretty equirythmic):
Night, square, apothecary, lantern,
Its meaningless and pallid light.
Return a half a lifetime after –
All will remain. A scapeless rite.
Then die, then have a new beginning,
And all will turn the same as ere:
Night, rippled water's frigid grinning,
Apothecary, lantern, square. (Translated by Alexander GIVENTAL; original:

Hi Eugene,
I found this pleasant, all the way up to the last note, which I found jarring - after all that soft high register playing and singing it seems incongruous to me to end with a sudden sforzando note - thanks for posting!
