Hi,

I am new to this site and would like to ask for feedback (on a lot music). With this piece, I imagined being ask to create a backing track for looming battle scene. While not being epic in size, the battle is set back in the time of titans and immortals that existed before time began. This is my aural vision.

Thanks in advance and do good work!!!

  • Thank you so much!

Fairly boring percussion pattern. As a listener (not a musician or a critic) I know pretty quickly what the next bar will sound like. More surprises please.
Also there is no glue holding the recording together. Maybe a low ratio reverb tail on the master output could bring it together more as an ensemble.

  • I like what you're trying to do! Your harmonies are nicel; very james bond esque. But it takes too long to lead up to something that doesn't last long enough. Try using really thick chords to deepen the textures. Also, I have to agree with Ray, the percussion is a little tiring on the ear. Try bringing down the dynamics of the percussion and focus more on the melody than the rhythm. I think it's a nice piece, it's just needs a bit more punch and character! Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks Ryland! I really appreciate your feedback and time.

  • Very energizing. I agree that there could be more going on at the climactic moments, adding another part in there maybe? Also, perhaps suddenly cutting the percussion for a brief second before a climactic moment would really intensify the surprise. Say before the chime or before the entrance of the choir for example.
