So, this is one of the little songs i've been working on. I made it with the intent to express anxiety and some momentaneous happiness.

I wish to know if it's effective, also why do I see the progression so weirdly

  • I don't know about weird. For a piece reliant on a tonal centre it's interesting. A little maniacal perhaps at the speed of delivery but it would make a traditional prelude in a salon concert - you know, where the pianist doesn't just stand before everyone to bow before he starts but goes straight to the piano and announces her/himself with a prelude.

The only surprise was it ended on the dominant, no resolution to the tonic: A flat major or minor. .

    A good piece. Nicely done.

  • Thanks for the encouragement!

I update it, I think it's smoother now.

Mania (definitive, kind off) - trying to understand the progression

  • Actually I thought it was good. One thing that I find difficult in music is the art of conveying emotion/atmosphere with intent. It's even more difficult when music is so subjective to everyone that hears it. For me, there wasn't really any anxiety in this piece. It does have a sort of happy vibe, but not bright and cheery. It sounds cool though, I like it. Keep practicing!
