I'm a big fan of his. I find his music has this curious quality where it all seems as if it were based on the wingbeats of a moth. Zigzaggy, erratic, and yet beautiful and poetic. I always wonder if Paliashvili liked moths.

Does anyone else not think this sounds very mothlike?

  • I'm a fan, I think his music is great. He has written the famous Daisi and Abesalom and Eteri operas which are masterpieces.

    Very beautiful music.

  • OMG nice to know I'm not the only one, usually when I mention him people ask 'Who the hell's that' or 'How do you even pronounce that name?'

  • He is pretty famous in Georgia and Russia.

  • Not in the English speaking sphere though, outside of a few classical music snobs I usually have to explain who he is!
