I simply can't get it to work properly. I have three computers and have tried on all of them and still have to revert to XP.

Yes I know I have not provided much info about my setup but first I would like to know if any of you are able to  do it.

Cheers

 Toomas

  • Without any info, its really hard to advise-

best route to take is to email Daniel Spreadbury with SPECIFICS of the problem--and  your setup, all program version numbers, etc at:

    daniel.spreadbury@avid.com

hes the Senior Product Manager | Sibelius R & D, and a really nice guy, and

he'll have you up and running in no time.

  • Hi Toomas--

Im using Sib 6.2 on a Mac-just recently upgraded.

I hope this all gets sorted out for you!

  • Hi Toomas,

I don't know if you solved your problem or not, but I am using Sibelius 6 on Windows 7... with no issues.

  • Sorry for the late reply, but I'm using Sib. 6.2 with Windows 7 64-bit. Sibelius does freeze on me frequently and I would like to figure out why, but other than that it runs normal.

  • I also use 6.2 with Win7 64-bit.  No issues at all to report.  I would imagine the freezing has to do with memory issues - I have 8Gb and, of course, one gets no appreciable benefit from a 64-bit system unless you have at least 4Gb (just as there is no point in having more than 3.2Gb if you are running a 32-bit system).

  • Hi All!

I should have posted earlier to report that I got it to work a couple of weeks ago.

The thing is that I didn't find the problem but just reinstalling a few times etc... then it works fine now.

    Thanks for helping

  • How much RAM do you have, Paul?  Julian's probably right.  I've got 4GB... it can take a bit to load the sounds once in a while when I have it play things back for the first time, but it's never frozen up on me before.  But if you've got less than 4GB, your system could easily start running into issues.

  • Hi Julian and David,

I have 8 Gb of RAM too and it still freezes. I've been having issues with my external soundcard losing sound more frequently so I'm not sure if that might be related.
