I was wondering if anyone familiar with large orchestral sample library-based composition could give me some advice, as I am looking to buy a new computer. I intend to use a good number of sample libraries, such as East West Symphonic Orchestra, CineBrass, Soundiron Damage, etc, in conjunction with Logic Pro 9, and need a system that will be able to effectively run large sessions in Logic using these kinds of samples.
Advice? For example, what kind of processor is best, how much RAM is good, etc. I have it on good authority that a 27" iMac with a 3.4 gHz Quad-core Intel Core i7 (up to 3.9 gHz), 8 GB RAM would get the job done. Apparently one can buy cheap RAM later.
Any help would be great.
