How to become a tramp ...

I like songs that tell a story, however twisted, and above all that have the ability to convey images. This is what I tried to achieve in this track, and I'd be very happy to hear back from anybody that has time to listen to it.

Thank you :-)

  • Jean-Michel, This is spectacular! You are an extremely talented person!

    Regards, Johan

  • What a clever piece. Practically a a whole little opera all at once. (I never listen to lyrics, so those were lost on me). The orchestration was outstanding and the changes were very compelling. (BTW,Tchaikovsky only wrote one Violin Concerto, this one in D major). That had to be a recording of a real violin. I've searched far and wide for a violin sample where I could manipulate the expressive characteristics and there are none that you can do that with. It's no mystery why you have so many fans.

  • Thanks Johan !

  • Thanks Art. Yes, that phrase borrowed from Tchaicovsky was taken from 8 dio's solo violins which contains sampled phrases from various famous classical works. I just added the string ensemble and bass in that section ... As mentioned in the track description, Tchaicovsky's violin concerto is an all-time favorite of mine that I used to listen to as a child. I remember how cacophonic the solo violin sounded to me to start with !! Thanks for your comments :-)

  • The premier of the Violin Concerto (circa 1870s) was met with much the same reaction. the same with his Piano Concerto 1. Your treatment of the theme is very pleasing.

  • I really enjoyed this.

  • Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment Bryan :)
