Hi everyone! That's the first time i write on this forum.
I'm a composer from Sicily and recently i had the opportunity and the fortune to make myself more known, thanks to a few musicians, here in Sicily, and the possibility to upload on YouTube my mock-ups.
I would love to show some of my compositions to other composers like you to have thoughts that can be usefull to me.
So the first piece i would like to share is a String Quartet, it is a Fantasy on a Theme.
Let me know if you like it and especially if you think there's something that can be improved, both in the composition itself or in the mock-up.
Here's the  .pdf file and the link of the piece on Youtube because the weight of it is too high for the attachments.

Thanks a lot in advance, Roberto.

  • Thanks a lot! The aura of the piece was intended like this because of the Theme i chose (from Dark Souls) ;)

Lots of great, sinister harmony and composition. It often seems about to resolve in a "safe" way without doing so, which jars me, but that's my bias. I know music doesn't have to resolve nicely! It reminds me of some groups - not sure if you could call them rock or post rock or what - that use strings in very melancholy, unsettling ways. Godspeed You! Black Emperor come to mind. Definitely a good comparison.
