  • If I'm, reading this right, the problem is that when you have your notebook running from the mains you get noise through the line out?

In theory, that shouldn't happen, but in practice most laptops trickle charge the battery when they're connected to the mains. It's a pain in the arse - it reduces the lifetime of the battery and can cause some power fluctuations as the load on the battery changes. The USB card will be drawing power from the 5V bus, so it stands to reason that it could be affected. For digital devices I doubt it'd be a problem (does the card have a digital output?), but the analogue might be affected some.

Try removing the battery from the notebook before you connect the power - no battery means the charging circuit won't function, and if that's what's causing the noise it might be enough to stop it.

If that doesn't work then it might be a case of putting together a small pc (there's some very small micro-atx machines out there if you hunt around) for the live shows instead of using the notebook.
  • Sorry forumers If you won't understand, I'll wirte it in Polish, it will be easier for me.

  • many thanx for an answer! I think, the problem is if we talk about 3th finger of a supply cabel - that;s the reason! if we off the 'zero' finger - problem we'll be probably finished! no more gears, no more buying..
    thanx!
