Do you have a "Can't stand it" piece? A piece of music that you listen to that you consider to be so beautiful that you have a hard time listening to it? One of mine is Chopin's etude op 25 no 12 in c minor. If there is such a thing as the sounds of Angels singing, this is what it would sound like IMO.

Gav.
All those arpeggios come off melodramatic to me. It's like the locomotive is about to run over the damsel in distress tied to the railroad tracks. Chopin has better work, like his nocturne no. 8. That's a piece I can't let go of.

Zweifellos ist dies fuer euch aber keine grosse Ueberraschung.
I disagree, and I am totally with Gav here. This piece is ingenious, beautiful and extremely sophisticated. It is also extremely dramatic. But then... people have different tastes and perceptions.
As far as the original question is concerned, there are many many pieces ( including other pieces of Chopin) which I find stunningly beautiful, but I have no problem listening to these pieces. However,it goes a bit in waves for me which ones I like most.

It's 42 degrees. The hot dogs are cold and the beer is warm. The White Sox are behind by 11 to 2 in the bottom of the sixth, and Harry Cary comes on and sings, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."
That Johann is a real Weisenheimer.

I don't speak German either. I just say, "Ich weis nicht." It seems to work. Anyway anybody knows it's spelled Anzer.
