Digital Piano Questions

Hi colleagues,

I'm looking into the possibility of getting a digital piano, looking for comments/recommendations. After some research, two that seem pretty good to me are the Yamaha P-125 and the Yamaha Arius YDP-144, wondering if anyone has one of these and can offer comments or recommendations for other brands to consider. I am looking for the following characteristics:

88 keys, weighted, realistic touch

realistic pedals

export to midi

export to soundfile (e.g., WAV, AIFF)

Thanks for any feedback,

Gav

  • I suggest to consider the Casio PX-S3000 (or its little brother, the S1000, if you don't need plenty of variation in piano tones).

Don't be fooled by the brand: the action is really good and it sports triple pedal.

  • Thanks for the tip Fabio, I will look into it. I don’t care about variations in piano tones -
  • Looks like it’s going to be the Roland FP 90. Part of the reason I’m doing this is so I can get a recording of me playing on this forum. I expect it will take a while to shake rust off!

  • Good choice. Enjoy it, Gav!

  • Thanks again for your input Fabio!
