So I just got a new computer with a nice processor and tons of RAM so that I can work well in Cubase but I've been having terrible issues. I took my sound card out of my old computer and put it in my new one. It's a ASUS Xonar DX. Not the greatest, but certainly better than on-board sound.
Now, when trying to set up the audio drivers in cubase, the default driver doesn't really seem to work in Cubase, so I used ASIO4ALL. I believe this is what I also used on my old computer (where all of this was working). Now, I'm having output/playback issues where I can see input going in when I play my keyboard, but I'm not hearing anything through the speakers, or when I do hear it, it's VERY quiet and even kind of buzzy/crackly. When I open the ASIO4ALL control panel in Cubase, the "beyond logic" error icon is under the ASUS Xonar DX digital "In", but the output is functional. Even after closing out of Cubase my sound continues to have this faint crackly sound, so I do not know what's going on.
Would anyone know how to help me out here?
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit, Cubase 6 - 64 bit, all of my drivers are up to date (that I know of) and all the physical connections seem secure.
As a note: it WAS working perfectly fine the other night, but I installed the drivers for another midi-keyboard I have because I wanted to use the modulation wheel and my 88-key controller doesn't have one. These issues started after I installed this, but I tried uninstalling that driver and seeing if it would solve the issue and it didn't.
