Greetings everyone!

I have recently joined this amazing forum and have spent a lot of time listening and reading to a great deal of inspiring and diverse stuff. From what I have seen so far I know it is a place where I will be able to learn a lot from a bunch of very experienced and talented people.

I thought I'd step out and post a few tracks to give a feel of where I am coming from. If you have time to spare I would be very grateful if you could lend your ears to these and comment and critique to your heart's content...

http://db.tt/FJps7Jo Morning Star- a celtic romance, bridal entrance music for a celtic themed wedding. I used Garritan for the orchestral parts.

http://db.tt/JqstPVp Journey Home - a short rondoesque orchestral piece. My first steps with EWQL Gold, particularly interested in any thoughts about the orchestral sound and how it could be improved etc et al.

http://db.tt/wKKO1kO Parisian jaunt

http://db.tt/3NNarT2 Shalom - an earlier piece for piano and flute, the piano and string sounds are from a Roland synth and could be a lot better now and maybe I need to revisit that sometime.

http://db.tt/XmcKlER Fiesta- a Latin workout- sorry about the poorly recorded vocals!

Look forward to hearing from you

Best regards

Ian

  • Beautiful orchestrations!
  • Hi, Ian. Good work, in live orchestra Morning Star can sound very well, good strings arrangement; Journey Home is not intresting for me but Parisian are beauteful! The Shalom - nice but You have to put some "stops" then flute play,(1min.45 sec) some piano "answers" to flute. Very good culmination with orchestra. Fiesta- god latino work but sax is europen (not bad).

    Finally I like You music!

  • Thanks Stephen, appreciate you taking the time to listen!

  • Thanks for listening Vlad, and for your encouraging comments, I'll take on board the idea about the

piano interaction between flute and piano in Shalom when I revisit it
