Ambient Life - Just Uploaded. A Mid-tempo ambient track, combining many musical elements including an underlying Enyaresque vocal, and mysterious female whispers. Unlike many ambient tracks which are very slow and ponderous this has an ambient feel which locks in the listener (I hope) waiting to hear the next element come through. Comments welcome. :)

  • Hi Ray ... Will do.....not sure how to do the link to the site's player....just got to nip out will try later. Thank you for your interest.
  • Hi Ray.....I'm back .... the file is on my 'Player' on my home page (left margin; by clicking on my photo) ..... Ambient Life (to go with Ambient Moon) .... I can't get it uploaded to my web page for some reason but will have to have another go tomorrow.
  • Hi Andy (Sizzler)-

Ive listened to Ambient Life and I like it..it works:)

My only observation is that for me it goes on a little too long without SOME change--some form of contrast--and you lose me around the 2:30 -2:40 mark.

The short key changes at about 1:30 helped there, and maybe (without TOO drastic a change in mood) having a bunch of instruments drop out, leaving only solo percussion or some instruments highlighted, or a short move to a more major kind of sound, or even some development of what went on at 1:30--would give the contrast I feel is needed, prior to returning to the very nice opening material-

so this comes back as a welcome friend, who was missed, and not as a guest who overstayed their welcome, without any contrast--:)-and fade.

    Just my opinion.

    Nice job:)

  • Hi Andy. You could try soundcloud next time. It is a site where you can post your music in widgets. "Ambient Life" is a beautiful piece of music and I think it would make a great video. The music suggests a cave by the sea with it's echo effects.
  • Thanks Ann - lovely feedback..... and glad you like it.
I was looking online the other day for royalty free video to put the music to but found it quite hard to find anything that wasn't just mini clips for free. Have you come across anywhere you can get longer clips or even people with video looking for music to put to it.

....Just looking at Soundcloud too.....but have always been a bit fussy about where my music goes and how easy it is for others to download and abuse.... need to be a bit careful. I'm with TAXI which is quite expensive but at least it gives plenty of opportunities to submit to real A&R guys and gals.... just got a forward with them for 'Kyrie'. Anyhow I'll keep looking round soundcloud and decide whether to take the plunge (searched for you on there but didn't come up with anything - are you on there by a different name). Thanks for listening......I'll be back to hear some more of your stuff soon.

  • Thanks Bob....will certainly bear your comments in mind. For me the genre of the piece is such that I thinks it's actually 3 times too short. If you try listening too it in a darkened room while lying down it finishes far too quick/ The variation was kept deliberately meagre as so not to detract from the complexity which is such that you can listen to it many times before identifying all the instruments. I'll go and have listen to your music soon as I can (got to do some work for work in a mo....bahhh). Thanks for listening

  • HI Andy--

Due to the type of music it was, i also had tried listening to it similar to that way..and as much as I did enjoy it, imho, I still felt a change--as I said, not a huge one--was needed..

Nice work--I enjoyed listening to it:)
