Aaron Copland's Piano Variations

"The Piano Variations of American composer Aaron Copland were written for piano solo from January to October 1930. They were dedicated to American writer and literary critic Gerald Sykes (c. 1904–1984)"

I consider this work a masterpiece--a most important set of variations, that shows a much different side of Mr. Coplands musical identity. I studied this work many years ago, and both the analysis and the music itself had and still has a great deal of impact on me.

His variation technique in this work is exceptional and worth of study, IMO.
