Dear Everyone,
A couple of months ago Wesley inquired by private message how I was doing (as he sometimes does) and I happened to be quite ill (I'm fine now). Wesley took one of my piano pieces, added an orchestral background to it to create a piano concerto of sorts, then recorded a pretend radio broadcast of its première in Chicago, complete with thunderous applause at the end. He said he hoped to make me smile and feel better. And it certainly worked. It was funny and gorgeous. I treasure this “concert recording” as a gesture of friendship, sensitivity and generosity from a kind spirit who lives many miles away.
After leaving the forum in May, I have kept in touch with a few of you via soundcloud email. Yesterday I was told that negative conclusions had been voiced in the forum about Wesley’s personal character.
So I came into the forum briefly just to write this post, which is intended to serve as a positive “character witness” for Wesley. While in the forum, as some of you will remember, Wesley took my “Pas de Deux” piece and created a series of variations of it on the piano. I post the sound file of his first variation below (there are several). I really adore it, but my point is to emphasize the special spirit with which he offered his variations, which came across as a very kind gesture, accompanied by the kindest commentary about “Mrs. Cabral’s music”. When he posted his variations on the site icomposition, he credited me for the theme and additionally volunteered kindly-worded praise about my music.
In the time since I left the forum, Wesley has often inquired about me and my family, has encouraged me to continue composing, made software suggestions, and mailed me CDs when I said I’d like to be able to listen to his music while driving. I have many favorites of his – I absolutely love his beautiful, delicate melodies, and I love the lightness of spirit; take for example his first piano concerto (he now has 4 others): https://soundcloud.com/wescurryii/chilton-piano-concerto-in-d-opus-1
I am therefore fortunate and proud to be Wesley’s friend. I also have friendship for several other people in the forum. And I wish a Happy New Year to each and every one who is reading this.
I request that no negative statements about any person be posted below, please. The intent of this thread is to share my positive experience of Wesley as a generous, kind, and respectful individual.

Mariza, I was accused of being 'anti-semetic' simply because I tried to alert
others to THE FACT that the people that run the central banks are taking us
all for a ride. I know that I am right about this. Both you and OO tried to distract
my intent with your accusations. The truth still stands, and it is getting worse.
You suggest that I am to be swayed from my moral beliefs by 'polls'. What utter
nonsense. In my world, you have earned the badge of 'Lib-tard'. Do you actually
take stock in media polls? How about 'Pizza-Gate'? Shall we accept this as
normal because it is popular with the rich and elite?
It seems to me that it is more a question of where someone draws the line
between what is moral and what is immoral.
Can you define that line?
Roger,
I am really sorry you brought all this up, and especially since in my mind it so gravely misrepresents our conversations.
You know, the administration let me in for a day or so (which is what I requested) to make a "character witness" statement, and I ask you to please don't bring all this into a thread that was intended as a character witness statement for Wesley.
So I will only respond to your question pertaining to moral lines and polls. First the polls. No, I am not suggesting that you need to align yourself to the majority attitude in polls. I was merely responding to your puzzlement "what is a straight guy to do nowadays" by saying what many straight guys are doing nowadays. Since you appeared to have no idea of a straight guy could possibly do, I thought I'd mention what other straight guys are doing.
My opinion about moral/immoral lines? I am aware that different individuals have very different, even opposite opinions of what is moral and what is immoral. Some people believe that homosexuality is immoral. As a logical extension, such people may view me as immoral because I defend full rights for homosexuals, first and foremost the right to dignity and to be included in the concept of what is moral. I accept that I am viewed as immoral by some. I don't have to retribute in kind and view them as immoral. It seems to be most people have a psychological need to feel themselves as being "moral" and I assume that's what they're trying to do even when they reach conclusions opposite my own. That said, I fight their ideas because it is everyone's right to fight for their ideas of moral, especially when there is so much at stake to so many lives.

I had requested from the administration "a day or so" in the forum, to make the statement on the header and respond a little bit, and... my 24 hours are now over.
I hope the point I tried to make came through. I think what I'm expected to do now is to close this thread before I exit. I wish everybody well.
