  • Thanks you for this. I should declare straight away, that I am not very good with giving a competent musical or formal analysis, but rely more on general impressions and associations, so, apologies, if this may not be helpful.

I find this piece very intriguing, but also a bit confusing, as it appears to cover a lot of different styles and genres. It starts like Chopin, then, towards the end of the first minute switches to Satie, then progresses to film-like music (Amelie comes to mind) and then to slightly more modern minimalists. It is certainly an interesting journey overall, but perhaps too much change, rather than getting strength from congruency. However, perhaps it could be perfect as film music.

In any case, it is well played and recorded, so, certainly has a lot of appeal (and competence).

  • Thanks for the comment :) I wrote this some time ago. At that time I was satisfied with this connection of genres. When I was listening to it yesterday I had very simmilar feeling to yours.

  •  A very pleasant listen. I liked the soft character of the recording and the piano used which I think adds perfectly to the charming composition.

  • Thanks a lot!

  • I was really  enjoying this piano waltz until about 2:45. It seemed like, although it was similar to what you were doing just before, it sort of became another piano piece. Maybe at that point return to the original theme or a variation of it and come up with an ending. But this is just my two cents and there is some real nice piano music here.

  • Thanks a lot!
