World, Oriental (Middle East)
About Me:
Well I'm Iraqi/Swedish, I write Oriental music using the Western background and forms.
I composed many works for the Orchestra, String Orchestra, String quartet, Violin and Piano Two Violins and other groups and sometimes I compose pure Oriental music such as (Samai Hujaz) and I have many works for the Violin solo with the Orchestra; normally I play the solo part in the Oriental style.
I arrange the Oriental songs (Arabic, Kurdish, Turkish or whatever) such as my track (Hawre).
Many of my works were played in Iraq, Jordan, Sweden and two of my works were played in USA (Kurdistan Symphonic Suite/ two movements and Kurdistan National Anthem).
I have several political musical works such as Kurdistan S.S. and Baghdad in Agony, each was built on a story, I write the story which is taken from the fact or the history or just a short story and then write the music on these stories. Sometimes I write music just to describe my feelings about something has happened such as Jubilation, to read the stories of Kurdistan S.S. please follow the shortcut below:

http://www.hewlerglobe.net/pdf/issues_44/13.pdf

My music here is mixed between orchestral works and some of them are very Oriental and almost without arrangement such as (Samai Huzaj), almost each track is in different style.

Hi, Ahmad -
Thanks for the comments! I'm so sorry for the late reply. The fourth track on my page (Walk in the Forest) is a live piano quintet; the rest of the tracks are samples. I'm slowly getting further into world music, but previously I've done some Eastern European folk tracks (I play balalaika and domra), as well as some Latin percussion work.

Your string writing is just lovely. I've been listening to your tracks as I type ("Baghdad in Agony" right now--beautiful).

and thanks for the other comments.

Next time I make a new video, I may ask for some more tips - and yes, I am reading the music, and concentrating really hard as you can tell !

Thanks for your kind comments.

I used East West Orchestral Gold for the instrument sounds. It was really difficult to combine real audio with VST sounds, and that was the best I could do, but I was quite happy with it.

I take my video camera with me and film nature that I find either interesting or beautiful, or both. I keep the clips for perhaps a year, and then use them for music that I think fits the mood. I then put it on youtube - as I have done with this clip.

The problem with Youtube is that it does compress the sound - so it sounds better on this website than youtube, as you have probably found out too.

Will watch some more of yours now.

Best wishes

thanks for listening

If you get the chance, please also see the video of me playing the piece "villavidovic" (high orc mix is just the name of the mix) in the video section of the home page of this website. The video also features my filming of the English countryside.

Best wishes

Hi Ahmad - great to meet you! Do you have a recording set up at home? Specialist instruments/styles are sometimes in demand for media music sessions.
