About Me:
I am a striving film composer. Need I say more? Well, I went to CSUS for my formal composition training and then to CRAS for my post production/recording training. I have written Band music for the Sierra Nevada Winds in Northern CA. I scored an independent film called "Last Day on Earth" Dir. by Dave Habeeb, and wrote a two minute spot for Harvard Business School's "Threadless.com" Video, on the internet. Recently I co-wrote a children's theater musical "Three Little Pigs" in Roseville CA. I am also currently trying to get my Symphonic Band scores published. If you would like to hear my musical talent or lack there of depending on who you are and what you can do, ;^) then go to www.showcaseyourmusic.com and type in "Mike Kitchens" in the artist box. I have about 30 or so original musical selections to listen to. Other than that, I teach music at an Elementary School, play trumpet in the theater orchestra, wind ensemble, hip hop band, and write music in hopes of landing a filmscore gig.

Hey Mike and thanks a lot for your comment! I really appreciate!
You asked what percussion sounds I use. Well, I am using Stormdrum 1 and 2 and True Strike 1 and 2 as basic percussion libraries. Also RA has some nice stuff such as gongs and a Djembe ensemble.

I recently expanded my libs with the Cinetoms which are awesome and last but not least the great Tsaiko lib of Sean Beason.

Hi Mike,
Great music...keep it up. To answer your question: I don't know. Just constantly pushing and trying to get things placed. There's never a dull moment! -Bob

Hey Mike - great orchestration man! I love your very eclectic tastes and you fulfill them all with solid understanding and depth. Dont ever refer to yourself as lack of talent dude, you have a lot of chops and solid creative ideas ;) Keep doing what you are doing!

Hi again Mike. Loved your End Credits for Last Day on Earth. Really cinematic, great theme developement and (I suppose) very realistic use of samples. I will be visiting your site at showcaseyourmusic.com for more. Best wishes.
