This began as a piano composition. I later used the piano midi as my guide in making this. Then I added more parts to it. Basically develops as a basic theme which I attempted to construct around. I…Continue

I have been trying to up my game some by combining video or pics I take to my original music, that is, when I have the time to do it. I took these pictures of my local area in Lancaster County, PA a…Continue

Only One Life-Organ, flute and string section

Started this discussion. Last reply by michael diemer Dec 3. 7 Replies

This is a composition I made based loosely on some of the techniques Bach used. No it isn't Bach, doesn't sound like Bach, but it uses the organ as a basis which he liked to do. He usually began with…Continue

"Good luck in finding a solution for this Colin. VE Pro looks like an interesting program. I guess we all have differing approaches and ways of working that work best for us. My personal approach is to almost never have any kind of vst shell with too…"

"I'm not experienced enough with the King Of Instruments, so my comments may be just my own reaction, but like Dane I really enjoyed it. I heard the flute fine, and think that on a real organ, with real pedals, it would sound much better. I…"

"What a beauty. Instrumentation just wonderful creating a fascinating mood, like a landscape. No other instrument than your violin can create this, gorgeous performance, I can't distinguish it from real playing. I know there is a story behind…"

Timothy Smith replied to Jörfi Terríson's discussion Song Cycle for Cello and Piano
"Please forgive me, I am terrible at critiquing other people's work. I was listening on inexpensive ear buds and maybe the bass just wasn't coming out of those very well. I think this is excellent impressionist work. Not a type I generally…"

"Thank for this very thoughtful review. I seem to gravitate to the flute often even though I mainly play piano and violin. The flute just adds the magic I'm usually looking for.... I had at one time set out to make mostly "Celtic"…"

"I'm intrigued by the title and am looking forward to listening to this! I generally type as I listen, so forgive me if this seems rushed or nonsensical at times. Here we go... The opening Irish flute/whistle is very soulful. Love it! Oh, the…"

I have been involved in music for most of my life. I would consider myself a hobbyist composer. I play guitar, piano, bouzouki, harmonica, and am an aspiring violinist. I am a worship leader/pianist at my local church. My website online mainly deals with different themes and instruments.
