Emboldened by surviving a decade of world travel and ritualistic abuse at the hands of producers, 'Divas' & 3 chord cowboys, Scott began working with local and national filmmakers over the last few years. The winner of a 2010 Silver Telly and 2010 CINE Golden Eagle for his work on the civil rights doc "We Shall Not Be Moved - the Nashville Sit-Ins", Scott has scored movies that have been screened at over two dozen film festivals worldwide; of note, "Sith'D", a short Star Wars spoof, won Best Comedy at Comic-Con (2006), and "Gracie: diary of a coma patient" (2007) received much critical acclaim for Scott's musical score. As the owner of Scootman Music Productions, he's worn many funny hats, all while doing music, audio & voiceover production and sound design work for Scholastic, Documentary Channel, Oxygen Network, Chattem/IcyHot, Ridiculous Software, Enzyte, The Nashville Film Festival, The BAO Way, Vanderbilt Cancer Center, Mobil/Exxon, Ritz-Carlton, CMT, P-K Pictures as well as music for the movie soundtracks of Smart People and London Tango.

So, about those albums...

I am really grateful to have had such a great year in 2009. A paradigm changer, even. A suite of tangos, two short film scores performed live at a concert, several TV, theatre & film music placements, a couple of commercials, a surprising number of gigs where my music was performed (and broadcast) live... I hope I can top it in 2010. While I have a few tracks I desperately need to re-record, I'm still thinking that it might be time to put my first two albums together, so I 'mocked them up'… Continue

Hop aboard the Coal Train!!

If you are like me, music for kids generally makes you want to stick your head in the oven. Asinine lyrics, annoying tunes, awful production, and for some reason your kids can't get enough. Well friends, the day has come -- someone has FINALLY made music that kids love and adults will secretly listen to while the kids aren't around. Coal Train Railroad, by Katy Bowser and Chris Donohue is silly, fun, beautiful, catchy,… Continue

So I listened to your newest piece, and I can say that although I didn't enjoy it at first, I really got into the rhythm and melodic phrasing =)

Thanks Carlos! A friend of mine liked it so much, he cut it on his album.... I am glad to reach a place where other people are recording my music!

The milonga has taken a while for me to get back to it, but I have a theme, so now I need to plot the form and accompaniment; hopefully I can devote more time to it since the kids are back in school

Gracias, mi amigo!

Hi Scott, loved Film Noir! Reminded me films from the 50s. You´ve got the right mood. How is your milonga going on?

wow - that Spirits of the Dead improv is stunning - wonderful! I love how it breaks into a groove after starting out so eerily, but it doesn't feel like a jarring move. Great stuff! The 'Sith'd' film was a great laugh, too!

Hey Scott!

Thanks a lot for checking that out and your comments! Frankly, I was shocked that it sounded so big. I got lambasted the next day for all those octave doublings, but it came out well nonetheless.

I just saw you post regarding the survey you did - that's amazing! Thanks so much for sharing that. I'll be by later and check out your tunage.
