"Thanks for the comments Ingo. This is still the 1st draft mix (basically just a levels balance) and once the last 2 tracks are recorded (hopefully in the next 2 weeks!) I will do a final mix - this is where I address frequency clashes and give…"

"Beautiful stuff here Nigel, I enjoyed it. Very ambient and peaceful but with detail for those of us who are listening closely which is appreciated. I think the drums could come up some without intruding but we'd have to hear it to be sure I…"

"Thanks Gav, I tried to keep the melody lighter in the first half to avoid it getting repetitious as its only 2 chords and no real progression. "

"Thanks for the kind comments.  They synth is a Roland Juno 60 emulator from Cherry Audio (a bargain at $25). There is a lot of layering (each chord has 5 notes and they are then replicated over 3 octaves and mixed in and out to create movement.…"

"Hi Nigel, Pleasant movie background music with some nice chord progressions. The 2nd part, where the melody comes in more strongly, struck me as the best part of the piece. Thanks for sharing! Gav"

"Hello Nigel heard two songs and I'm already a fan It gave me chills it was so good! I'd like to know what you used for the main synth (playing like a treble less the string section).. if I may suggest something, the drums could be more in…"

"Nice flow and overall progression. I like the delays on the keys. It would work well as a background to a game or animation."

"Thanks and I agree about the Japanese feel though it was entirely unintentional. It does have a kind of Sakamoto vibe going on, even though the scale is entirely western."

"Hi Nigel Nice music the rhythm is kind of Japanese and eastern this is neither a compliment nor a complaint it's just an observation. I'm into animes and this could be  a peaceful scene where we see a family go about their business in…"

"Well done Nigel! I'll bet your son really enjoyed himself making it. A great little father/son project. I have a few video editing programs but admit to not knowing much about the process. Would love to learn some of the techniques involved."

James Richardson replied to Nigel Campbell's discussion New Piano piece - Should I add strings?
"I really enjoyed this piece, and I think that it definitely works as a it is. I can certainly hear where strings could be added (perhaps some very ambient strings, or some very soft pizz or col legno, just for texture), but I think the simplicity of…"

Jan-Frederik Carl replied to Nigel Campbell's discussion New Piano piece - Should I add strings?
"Hello Nigel, you say it yourself: "I really like the emptiness of just the piano" - I think with strings, the piece would sound very different, most importantly, the emptiness would go away. There is probably no good or bad about this, it…"

"Thanks Michael, That was the toughest challenge - on the one hand you really want to underscore - but trying to write in that idiomatic John Williams style - it was much more melodic, but had to be simple in structure so as not to distract too much.…"
