Hello Ray: You've been so helpful to me in the past. Thought I'd let you know that I now have some tools that I think will allow better productions. I now have the M-Audio Prokeys 88, SampleTank.2L, Miroslav Philharmonik Classik, Sonik Synth2 and Reaper. I have yet to try the setup out, and I have lots of reading to do to figure the whole thing out, but I'm very pleased!

Thanks again!

Thanks. I am out of town and don't have my recordings with me. I'll post some when I get home. Thanks again.

Ray,

I finally got around to posting some music & a photo. Your "Exercise on SE" sounds great. What does SE stand for?

Best wishes,

Eric

Hey Ray,

Thanks for the welcome. I sure will add some of my tracks here for all to enjoy (hopefully). :)

Pretty impressive setup you got there. Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks for your advise!
I used Logic Studio and samples from Peter Siedlaczek Advanced Orchestra Edition. The reverb is Altiverb and is set up for a real orchestral stage with instrument placings. I've spent a lot of time setting this up. Maybe the hall chosen is to big?
Is VSL flexible enough to be used by Logic? I am bit scared of dongle-software.
Usually I compose in Sibelius, export the MIDI to Logic and then further modify.

Thanks for the feedback. I would be very interested in your opinion in what to change in the production e;g. what does not sound right...

I really appreciate your interest (and I've updated the widget, so it now has 9 short samples). My setup is very primitivie. I use an Alesis QS6 synth, an M-Audio interface, and a plain ol' Dell laptop (Inspiron E1505, now with souped up memory). That plus, um, a mic, some bongo drums and 10-year-old twins who help me with vocal tracks sometimes. :-) ... And I swear, if I ever actually make any money composing, it'll go straight into their college fund!

I added one as Widget from ReverbNation, and I'll add some more.

Thanks, Ray. My DivShare mp3 files seem to be temporarily down, but I added a little widget for a commission I did for a parodic dance video that's supposed to have a cat-walk beat, Keystone Kops feel, and sinister underpinnings. A bit challenging combo, that!
Cheers,
Alex

Very varied music, Ray. I particularly like Solemnity & A Strange Theory. Charlie Oscar's Tango has some influences from Astor Piazola: I like it!

ok, fair enough, my misunderstanding perhaps. I'll go for a rummage through my hard drive and see what surfaces.

Thanks Ray. I'm not selling anything. I'm just learning more about the site and composing in general. Where do I post my music?
