Hey,

I love brass bands. I've grown up playing in them all my life. Though I am sure that my dad had some influence in the fact that he started me in brass bands and was always playing the music while I was growing up.

Hi Ray, I started writing songs at the age of 15. I did my first recordings on a multitrack tape recorder. The drum set was a bunch of pillows of different size, and I had a cheap electronic organ and a detuned piano. Equipment has changed, but the enthusiasm is the same. And this is the way it should be, I think.
So let's rock on

Hi Ray. Thank you for your comment on my page. Yes. Lena is a very beautiful singer with a very flexible plastic live voice. Nice to meet you and hope on friendship. You write a very nice music with spiritual voices and good harmony. Thank you again :) Sergiy Byelousov.

Hi Ray, thanks for the comments. 3 of the tracks on here are still unfinished - production work still happening. Running into some problems due to the program, but if I can at least get a demo out there that gets some interest, then we'll worry when we get into a real studio!!

Hi Ray, thanks for the greeting. I really enjoyed your organ/choir piece. you have such diversity!

I took your advice and uploaded a piece that i've been working on. It's still very rough and not at all complete, but any feedback would be welcome. thanks.

Yah I do play some piano, I can record stuff, I'm just stuck in a writers block at the moment. I'm also apart of a ensemble preparing for a tour throughout ITaly so yah I haven't had the time to really sit down and write, maybe on the plane I can :)

Hi, Ray,

Thank you for the note.
I will certainly try to post a few things as you suggest. I
haven't looked in to doing that yet.

I have BLOGs on MySpace and tracks as well. I have more tracks on ReverbNation. I have given the links below.

Comments are always welcome.

I wish to thank you for taking the time out of your day in order to comment.
Also, thank you for your welcoming.

That particular piece is for a game, so for that purpose , I will not extend it, but perhaps with some spare time, I believe I could do that.

I will definitely add more =)

Interesting suggestion (re-recording "Rose" with Asian instruments)! I'm actually working on a piece of music which pays homage to Asian musical esthetics while retaining Western instrumentation. Maybe I'll be a little more motivated to finish it, now. I like your work on Intrigue and Innuendo. A nice blend of ethnic "overtones!"

Thanks, Ray, for your comments. You're right. I'm caught! I use Finale to "interpret" and record my music. I'm just getting the hang of using a MIDI controller and would like to redo my pieces to give them the human touch, but I find the challenge daunting. Maybe I'll start with something smaller than a work for orchestra. By the way, The 59th Floor swings.

I appreciated reading your witty self-introduction. Although you indicate that you have no formal music training, your music has life, breath, and soul--qualities that cannot be learned in music school (trust me). There is a joi d'vivre quality to your music, and your use of sample libraries and virtual instruments is musical and expressive, even natural. Enjoyable!

Thanks for the welcome Ray. Love the music, "Solemnity" really stands out to me as a great piece. Will do my best to help people out, we are all students in music, we can never learn enough! :-)

I'm gradually learning (mostly through online research) about virtual instruments. This morning I was looking at some virtual instrument and choir packages from a company called East West. Just another series of items for my wish list. You see, I'm one of those folks who can't afford new software or hardware, but I'm trying to raise the money.

Yes, my recordings aren't the greatest. Unfortunately, I wasted $800 on studio recording and mastering of four songs (only one of the ones uploaded here). The good news is that the lessons I learned could have cost me much more. I can't record decent vocals at home and can't afford what I need for a decent studio recording (that is, pro singers, enough studio time, etc.) So I'm going to try some instrumentals now using my Korg sequencer to record and then plug the Korg into my computer via USB and record the tracking using a freeware Audacity recorder/editor. Not sure if it will work (e.g., if the quality will be good enough), but I'm going to try to see if I get a contract with the Pump Audio library. I do believe in the soundness of my compositions, but I'm also still learning and experimenting (as I hope I always will be).

Thanks for your comments.

Ray: I listened to Quiet Reflection. Loved it. Also read your bio. It turns out that we have something in common. I've just started seriously delving into composition. I've been writing songs since childhood but never seriously polishing or analyzing my compositions, until now. Don't have a home studio, a DAW, virtual instruments, etc. As a matter of fact, I've just learned about all of that. For now I'm composing on my old, faithful Korg 01/WFD.

Cheers! And thanks for the posts!
