It's taken me a while to reply to your friend invite(6 months!) as I've just moved back to Lancashire for a new job and the dust has been settling for some time! But I now have finished unpacking the studio and am doodling away waiting for the next project, so am now starting to browse through the forum more often...
Anyway, feel free to get in touch - and I will probably reply a lot quicker this time!
Thanks for taking the time to listen. The St Kilda piece is just based on a long-held fascination for the St Kilda story and their struggle against all odds. Somebody else (on youtube) also said that I should have made it more celtic, but I wanted to deliberately avoid any musical preconceptions - in any case there is no evidence that the St Kildans' music was celtic per ce - the place was like an Iron Age village frozen in time, miles away from even the Outer Hebrides.
Hey Steve, I'm really looking forward to the new update to Pro Tools 8, I have the discs for 7.4, so if it doesn't work good, or causes loads of problems I can simply fall back on 7.4 until the bugs get worked out. I'm real excited about the new features and especially the extended track count. Because I use P.T. for films I will need it.
I didn't understand what you were saying about Mac version 10.5 +, maybe you could elaborate...
Sweet! I also use PT 7.4 with an ever growing collection of good plugins. I used Motu Symphonic Orchestra and Vienna Symphonic Strings in Kontact 3 to do Hoplophobia.
Yipes--that's up near Fargo! (You betcha!) Yeah, I think that would be too cold for me too. I like living in the Twin Cities area. You know--all those buildings together makes it SEEM warmer. I'm not originally from Minnesota so I love how native Minnesotans will ask "and you like it here?"
Hi Steve
Glad you like my stack of money, and I've just added a picture from your neck of the woods.

Hi Steve - thanks for the invite and also the nice things you say about my stuff - which is more immediately conventional than yours - I like your sound design type approach, refreshingy different from my "let's get the tune happening and get some gigs" attitude!
