Hi Ben. Just got back from Poland - produced one of the film sessions out there...quite an experience :-)

The theme tune is a sore point. I originally had the theme tune (as you'll hear on the dublounge site) but right at the very end a new producer came on board and said she didn't like it so another composer got it....grrrrrr.......one of the team though so not so bad :-)

Hi Ben. There'll be some clips up on my site soon. :-) There's one bit on another website http://www.thedublounge.co.uk/showreel1.html. Have a look at the last item on the playlist; documentary 5.

All the other stuff is by the wonderful gifted composers that I work with :-)

I think it really is the way. It's not what you know but who ;-)

All those colleges are great. I particularly like the guildhall

Kingston is just outside London, in surrey. Unfortunately I don't think it's the force it once was, although the instrument tutors (if they are still there) are excellent. And the bar is good ;-)

Hi Ben. HOpefully :-) I've been very lucky in that I got to work for a few composers as tech assistants and then one of them gave me the opportunity to do some writing and I haven't looked back since.

The doc was called "around the world in 80 trades". 4 of us worked on it. Unfortunately they mixed a lot of my stuff very low (I think it was too "busy") but I've managed to re-dub some of it here so I can put it up on my site.

I studied at Kingston Uni which was great fun. I had a couple of great piano teachers and met my wife there :-)

What do you play? Where have you applied?

Thanks for your kind comments again :-)

Well I'm newish to the professional composing game only been going about 2-3 years . Done a couple of library albums, a doc for channel 4 and currently doing some cues for a feature in Poland.

Worked for about 7 years before that as a classical recording engineer and also taught music tech.

So what keeps you busy? When you're not writing?

Haven't seen the footage yet so i don't know. i know what it won't be: symphonic and grandiose. As for the gigs, mainly they come by word of mouth, or if someone hears my music online or more often a DVD i've spread around the market.

Well, yes, actually! i hope to be writing for 2 films in the coming months. i hope it leads to more projects. i believe in my abilities as a musician/composer; problem is... there are so many talented musician/composers! LOL. all we can do, is keep whaling away, bats and all!

wow. what an epic story Castaway is! up the mountain, over the seas, through the dungeon, winning the fight against the Lord of the Caravan of Majestic Thought Controlling Elves Turned Bats, and at last reaching the Magical Stone. Triumph!!!! Enjoyable, and reassuring!

thanks Ben so much for YOUR kind words. they truly are encouraging! hard to listen to some of my stuff cause it has so much high end happening it all spills out at you because it's compressed for the Web! i use many VSTs, and a lot is midi, but i also record through a couple of mics, and some of the drums you're hearing are actually played by me - like the example you pointed out in Biochemical, in which i played percussion. Please stay in touch, and when you do upload more music let me know!
