The trios were written in an attempt to learn something about counterpoint. They were realized by electroinc means since I don't know any musicians real or imagined. none-the-less I think it is always wise to write with the proclivities of the specific instruments in mind, try to understand what sounds good on them and what does not, what they can do and what they can not do. Be mindful of bowing, and articulation in all instruments, and that winds and brass must breathe.
Important to know how to combine instruments. There are some books on orchestration that are very helpful. I happen to like Adler's books on orchestration but there are others that are just as good.
Keep stuyding. you can never know too much. In fact, that reminds me of a story. Composer Paul Hindemith was told that someone had a "masters degree in music." Hindemith laughed and asked "how can anyone be a master of music?"
keep writing.. write something every day. If you don't like it toss it out, but the experience of producing a lot will hone your judgement so that you only keep the best. Brahms once remaked that the hardest thing about composing is knowning what to throw under the table, that is, what to discard. Don't fall in love with your own work, be critical. Sharpen your knife.
