Hi Deborah,
I'm glad you're getting the tools together there.
That Prokeys 88 looks the business. I've been toying with the idea of such a keyboard here but I'm restricted for space unless I do a major re-fit. It should be fairly straight forward with usb to get everything connected and talking in your system. Reaper is pretty powerful for such an inexpensive DAW.
Keep me posted.
Thank you for commenting on my Summertime piece. Yes, Im also a fan of Mahalia! My mom played a lot of her records when I was younger. Your voice is very soulful, and the keys on Elated are pretty cool! I will check some of your other stuff later. Good to meet you on here and let's stay in touch! God bless
That's so good to hear and very exciting times for you Im sure! Thanks for letting me know and I willcatch up with your new tracks. Im working on a new look website for soundwrx..so, like everyone around here...im busy! :)
Yeah Deborah Simon no longer publishes to this forum. He is admin and contributor over at www.exportaudio.ning.com if you wish to catch up with the man? The project is going really well and the music is strong. We will soon have our second collaborative track for preview. Speak soon.
Hi there and thanks for the nice words about my music. Love the work you're showing here. I especially like singing parts and the tender orchestration in the background :)
Hi Deborah,
thanks for the add.. taking a listen to your songs right now... I love the flow of your lyrics... you've got a great voice too... I'm really enjoying "Elated" a lot at the moment. I just listened to it a few times already. :) very nicely done!
All the best,
Don
Your observation on "Rain" was pretty much spot on if you saw the dramatic situation in the film during that scene . This was shot thru a gray rainy window and as the scene grew mor positive, the interior lighting became warmer -more golden ( heralding the shift to a more positive mood )
Hi Deborah. Thank you for your comment on my page and nice to meet you. I fully agree to speak each other and hope we'll do it often. Beautiful word- eclectic. But in my case it would sound better as versatile work if I can to say so.:)))Thank you for your song Elated. It has attracted my soul. Warmest regards.:)) Sergiy.
Hi dear Deborah;
Many thanks for your welcome… Actually “little serenade” is the shortest piece of music I’ve written...
I hope I could upload more of my piano and orchestral music in the future and I’m looking forward to hear from you.
Thank you for your comment.
I'm not very interested by the production bit itself but I enjoy striving for realistic results. I like your voice and I will listen more to your music soon and leave a comment.
Deborah, thanks for your comments about Osaka. I agree- the intro lacks lustre, and I should do a better arrangement for that section. I also agree about adding depth. I'll work on harmonic variations. I enjoyed working with my guitar. Do you like the drums and bass?
Hi Deborah,
thank you for your message and comment. Your voice is beautiful. Yes, I love melancholy in music, not sadness, but in melancholy you see the hope. Like in Elated, very nice, positive and gives hope!
Regards from Boglárka
What a beautifull Voice dear Deborah... What a nice song ...
Thanks you very much for invite... I appreciate.
Thanks also for visiting with me and for your kind words about "Just a Melody"!
The Life of a man is made up of a series of dreams which write our history, as well as our children, who then start to write their own. I decided to continue writing mine as soon as I began to dream in early childhood. One doesn't need to stop the journey along the way.
It is necessary to believe that the stars which light our way will never go out, and to continue to follow our dreams which inspire us in the most beautiful moments of our lives. If not, why is my star helping me to write so many fine melodies? I composed a suite for my dream,
called " Melody for an Oscar", and I am convinced that one day someone will help me to reach for that Oscar in Hollywood, which I have always imagined in my dreams. WE CAN DO IT!. No matter what, my dreams have enhanced my musical creativity, and for that I am thankful.
Warmest regards for now,
I've been away for a few days so that's why the delay in getting back to you.
The M-Audio weighted keyboard has had a lot of good reports and I've considered one myself, but for me it would just be something nicer to place my ten thumbs on :)
The IK Multimedia pack seems good value for money also. Once you're up and running with a DAW there are many plugin instruments that can be added to your pallet.
I use Vista on both this PC and my Music PC although it is 64bit Vista on that.
The only issues are whether your present PC has the hardware that will handle Vista.
You can check that out on the microsoft site. It'll look at what you've got and tell you if it'll work. Vista certainly needs more ram than XP. No point in telling you now what a mistake it was to get XP Media Center Version. Most sample developers will not support XP in future.
I'm glad you've got someone there that can give some direction to you on learning midi stuff.
Deborah,
This cable will only allow the transfer of midi information between keyboard and computer. If you wish to record the keyboard output to the computer you still need audio cables from keyboard output to computer sound card input.
Let me know how you get on when you have it and we'll get you up and running somehow.

That will allow communication with the computer applications.
