I actually don't have Sibelius' software, except the free "scorch" viewer downloaded from their site. I tried to print F in D minor, but it only prints the first page, and superimposes "sibeliusmusic.com" diagonally and repeatedly across the whole page. Do you have a PDF or other image file of the score you can send along to me?

I'm not soliciting feedback - I really just want to share this work (not mine) with others (and in particular, you) by whom it might otherwise go unnoticed and unappreciated. It's a very formative work for me and I feel your supple, straightforward intellect can appreciate the unpretentious beauty and brilliance that lies therein.
Speaking of covering others' material, I'd like to discuss attacking your Fugue in D minor [for string trio], with your permission. I'd of course present my production first to your scrutiny. Hey Fredrick, I have to say after listening to your tunes now a couple of times, I really enjoy "Serenade for Violin" and "Melody 3". I'm a big fan of Ennio Marricone and these two tunes remind me of his work on Cinema Paradiso especially in the sense that he tends to use a lot of Piano and solo Violin in his compositions on this sound track. Very well done and inspiring. I look forward to hearing more. Please hail me when you post some new stuff.
Hey Fredrick, thanks so much for the very positive comments. I really appreciate it! I agree with you that melody seems to be out right now. For me it's a vital component from a writing perspective. That being said there is a lot of good stuff out there that is very current sounding and seems to be missing the melodic component, but for me I can't seem to write with out. That's probably not good news for me and my music, but I think that being passionate about it helps push it through even if it seems our of the main stream.
I neglected to say that I'm not related to JR. There's a region in Germany named Oppenheim, and it has a city, Oppenheim-am-Rhein, which produces great wine. At some point, a lot of people were required to take surnames, and many of them took the name Oppenheim or Oppenheimer. Few people with that surname are related in a way that can today be demonstrated. My wife's a genealogist, and she's certainly tried.

I have a few works on a recorder playing list. If anyone's interested, the location of the files is
Mendelssohn. I was introduced to his music with the Octet, and left so ecstatic that I immediately got my hands on Dover's Complete Works for Pianoforte Solo. Ironically, I know Mendelssohn as composer not by the more popular Violin Concerto, nor Songs Without Words, but through the careful study of his six preludes and fugues. It was the first credible affirmation I'd encountered (or understood, rather) of my own thoughts, that the discipline of fugue was effectively applicable to other, later styles of writing beyond the Baroque. Had he enjoyed a natural longevity, I can easily imagine his name towering with the likes of Mozart and Beethoven.

Fredrick, I'm listening to American Songs right now! So lyrical and evocative....almost visual. Exuberant without flamboyance. This middle section reminds me of Copeland's Rodeo. Oh, I love this next soaring section! About the title, are the American Songs based on any folk themes or are they purely of your own composition?

Thanks Fredrick, your approval means a great deal to me, and I was honestly worried that the diminished supertonics wouldn't fly, except to my peculiar ear. These are somewhat of an homage to Fux, who admittedly might have tied me to a tree and beat me senseless for such flagrant musica ficta.
