Whats your motives?

I feel one of the greatest questions with composition is what's your ultimate goal in music. Is it to move people, express a pain or feeling, make money, show people a little bit of what your world, love making, etc. I personally feel with most of my music is I want to bring people on a journey they haven't experienced yet; show the changes of moods I find most beautiful. Please share with me, I would love to hear.

let Mozart be Mozart, and Noah be Noah. If its fame that you want that's ok but there will never be another Mozart.

My dream is to be the next Mozart. I know it sounds farfetched, but it's true. I want people to want to listen to my music even after I'm dead and I can't compose anymore. Of course, I plan on outliving the poor guy; I won't settle for 35 years of age if people like my music enough.

Mostly because of Artistic expression. If I touch people are move people that is just a bonus. My music is how I express my love of sound and the art of music. Its how I express my feelings and curiosity.

I compose, record and mix because I think I have a knack for it. I want to hear a kind of music that I haven't heard before. I really like the idea of creating 'art objects' in the form of recordings. Also, I have an 'urge' to be creative.

Mostly I compose because I enjoy it.  As far as I know that is.  In the past I have composed to get a good grade, to have a new song to play in my band, to impress a woman, to explore a new process I heard about, to enter in a competition, the list goes on and on really.  To avoid doing more important things, that's a big motivator sometimes.
