Music Composers Unite!

String Quintet (2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello, 1 contrabass), or Adagio for String Quintet in F minor.

The idea for this piece is to play the same theme each round an octave up, five octaves, then down again. The incomplete mix presented kicks it off with the first four rounds. The 1st is played solo by the contrabass. The 4th round is played solo by the 2nd violin.

Anyone with more time than (and as much talent as:-) I please feel free to complete this piece. It's the time for group work :-)

Or comment.

Thanks.

Threads have this way of quickly changin topic. Ok, online collab sites. It's a good idea. I think SoundClick was the first, but now it seems there is a new generation, some with more features viz. integrated mixer. Indaba is just one of them. I found out this list

digitalmusician.net (DMN), eJamming, eSession, Indaba Music, i-Studio.net, and SessionPlayers

on a 2007 review at

http://emusician.com/tutorials/musicians_online_collaboration/

Now I wonder which of them allow collaboration in a classical way, by writing the score. (My guess is: none.)

Thanks. I took a look. "Incomplete musicians" indeed, the kind that cannot read or write music. Which is 99% of all musicians, I know. Good for pop music maybe. But for a string quartet?...
