Music Composers Unite!
Hello Composers' Forum members!
This is my first ever blog.
I have been trained in music for 10 years now. I started by playing the Bb trumpet from 5th grade up through high school. I have been composing music for three years now, though it has only been recently that I have been publishing with full rights to my work. I have yet to get a recording done by a real musician, but I am working with a friend to do just that at the moment.
I feel that it is an honor to be a member of this forum. I appreciate the code of honor that has been established by the administrators and fellow members. I have not been a member for very long so I am not sure what to expect exactly by participating. But it is my hope that I can get to know you all and gain a sense of belonging to this community.
I actually have a mild form of autism. I was formally diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome when I was 7. I have been researching autism spectrum disorders for one year and found that people with Asperger's are, in fact, no different from people with autism. So, I consider myself autistic. On that note, I believe that my autism helps me to right more comfortable music than what the average composer may produce. I am sensitive to strong dissonance, such as putting two notes together that are only a half-step apart. I like to think that I have a strong musical sense, both as an audience, composer, and audience-composer (whatever that means : P).
So, that being said, I hope to get responses from you, my fellow members and moderators. Let me know if you would like me to listen to your work whenever I am online; I try to watch the Main Room chat as often as possible.
