Music Composers Unite!

Could you help me with this, or pass me on to someone (living!) who might?

I’ve been through the pages of the sc8850 manual, to try to get a BIG GONG into my music.....in fact i’ve
been trying on and off since my first composition in 2001, and arrived nowhere.

Have you by chance, (or might you know anyone who has), a notion of how i might achieve this.

If you're going to use Sibelius - I like 'Sibelius Sounds' personally for orchestra - use the 'chimes' under 'pitched percussion'.

See my notation below for use with CWMC (really any version that has celesta or pitched percussion)   and follow that same or similar procedure.

Good luck G -

Cakewalk Music Creator 3 or 4 , select Celeste as your instrument - write some notes in staff (whole notes, for spacing) - play it. Then, toolbar - process - transpose down 8vb at a time, repeat until you hear the sound you want. G -

Thanks Bob.

It's good news just the same, that i've been told the bad news.

Appreciated !

Many thanks Ronald.

Unfortunately, amongst the instruments offered in the "add instruments" in my Sibelius Software, the Gong Ageng, (the only one offered), turns out to only produce a Cymbal sound - and i can't work out, (from my Sound Canvas manual for Roland SC8850), how to apply it.    I'm searching for someone who  could help me through this Martial jungle of technical procedure, enabling me to get it via SC8850 - which does marvelously for my purposes.

If you know of any 'Whiz", (at least that's how they appear to me !), who could assist, i'd be almost delirious with joy: i've been trying for a long time.

But the thought was much appreciated.

Thanks to you

1. There's only one thing that intimidates me in this life - and that's the Tech[nic/nologi]cal. You're being patiently helpful though.  Will it help if i send you a 'snip' of the edit instruments page you refer to?

2. At the moment we are in Spain - bottom right hand corner

in Sibelius 'add instruments' it only offers (for gong) "one line"; then when it's added, it only offers 'auto' - meaning no actual Gong instrument
