Music Composers Unite!
I had to turn right around and write another fugue, otherwise the first item, and in all likelihood the last, heard on my Soundcloud stream would be Ferneyhough's Boogie Voogie.
Well it seemed a good enough excuse. This, like so many of my more recent writings, is a mixture of Ionian, Aeolian, and Phrygian modes, as well as a few others with glances at chromaticism as well. With no bridge, close imitation often in stretto, this is a structurally archaic style of fugue adorned with some peculiar eclectic language. Enjoy, or perhaps not..
