All is simple. Horizontal lines- time(X). Vertical notes - space(Y). And farther aspiring to harmony(Z).

music it is mysticism, Bach is a mathematician in music but without alpha and beta he could not go and 1 step.
About timbre and texture. It's all in XYZ only, in frequency changes. IMHO.

Second part - Intuition and inspiration. Thank you SpyrusTheVirus ;)

I think more depends on refinement of perception of vibrations our brain and further decoding for the material world (knowledge and experience are certainly important here). But it is only one part of iceberg.:)

At the beginning there was a word. It's from Bible. I think at the beginning was Silence (Emptiness) :)) A (alpha) is an active point and going to B and ect. And word was a sound (wave with frequency modulations in Universe). Strange theory:))) Don't forget that 12 notes and 12 planets it's not foolish comparison.:)

You can see 3 Letters, XYZ., but how about others. It's only three letters of music. See in alphabet and find more paints:))) A- (alpha) - The first letter. It's a point. From this point go line to B (beta) and in Triangle C( Cmajor);)))))

Seems to miss out a fair few dimensions as far as I can see...

How about volume?

Unless you are literally going to count all of the harmonics as notes then timbre/texture is incredibly important as well.

Of course my first degree was mathematics so I tend to think of things in dimensions like this a lot.

interesting aproach.in the world we can feel and understand we have 3 clearly felt dimentions, length, depth and height, and one that is more relative-everyone feels it in a different way, depending on how he's moving, what he's seeing while he moves etc...so in music we could identify 4 dimentions, the four you described, and we all see and hear them the same way (a C is always a C) and a fourth one,inspiration...Like time,we don't really understand it,and we all see it in a different way...
