Santa brought me my first violin this Christmas. I was completely surprised....Just kidding. ;)
On the day it arrived I had to restring it because the G string slipped out of the fine tuner. On day 2 I broke the E string and needed to restring it. After rubbing rosin on the bow I was surprised it was still slippery. I soon found out that I needed to scratch that rosin cake. BRILLIANT!!!!
Today was a good day, I made progress on my magnum opus, my lovely piano concerto that I started planning out months ago (no key signature yet, I'll see where my harmony takes me)!
Though in particular, the 2nd movement.
It starts on a low D (much like a Satie waltz) and then goes into the B below mid c + an f# (in 3/4)

A shift in goals
Just what I need: A new focus. I say that both sarcastically and literally. I am really excited at the prospect of composing for TV and film. After so much searching for a purpose, I think I have found something that I really have always wanted to do.
