Well... after some nerve racking skin grafting surgery, it appears that my leg will remain free from amputation. The operation was a partial success (after painful complications), and I'm pleased to say that the ulcers are healing (slowly but surely). The only part of my foot that is having problems is the toe next to my big toe, and it doesn't matter how large or numerous the ulcers are, the pain always seems the same (unbearable). The project is a three-act, English-language opera based on L. Frank Baum's novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz". I have written my own libretto, but am not satisfied with my work. I seek a librettist who has adequate poetic and storytelling abilities who could perhaps make the text rhyme throughout the entire piece. I am really getting back into this wonderful genre. I have joined the new ensemble in Seattle (Seattle Wind Symphony - www.seattlewindwymphony.org), and have enjoyed it. The genre is full of surprising innovation, not to mention a great way to relive old classics.
