The Irish knew how to write a song, and Mr. Grainter knew how to set it for Orchestra.
It is absolutely beautiful. The use of solo strings and bras is striking. The interplay between discrete sections of the orchestra are amazing, and pack such an emotional punch!

A pastoral movement. I'll post part 2 when it's completed, which will be awhile. This music is the first I've posted that has Vienna Instruments. The French Horn solo that opens the piece is from VI, and the only FH I have that really works there. The beautiful oboe which takes over is from Garritan. I've yet to hear a better oboe from East West or Vienna. But then, I only have the basic libraries. Hopefully the sound is better than Skating, which will be remixed at some point. I wrote the orchestral works.
However, I do not know much about orchestra. There will be strange place, and how to write amateurish in this score.
I do not think that this work is actually played.
But to write the score of the orchestra became studying for me.Continue
