Experimental Sound Design Programs

I like to find the odd piece of windows software that gives you that experimental edge for sound design. There are many, hiding out in nooks and cranny's of cyber-space but finding them can be a real chore. The very fact that you are here at this blog gives you a distinct advantage as we will be constantly researching and updating the list of these rare birds. Lets get started with some recent and unusual finds. Note that all of the following programs are free…

New song: Narmeleth's dream

This is a relativly new song. I have had some challenges with it, because I don't know how to make the arrangement I want.

Is suppose to be a lament somehow, very slow ballade.

I do try to avoid making my songs similar to eachother though, so on this song I have focused on classical sounds, like strings/cello/harp.

I also realized that less is more (I have tried drums/Bass) But it seems I fall back to my original idea.

Again I try to sing here I have actually a…

Thoughts #2

So, what am I thinking? What pops first to my mind is the nasty burnt back I got from the sun today. But it will pass I suppose. When I touch it it hurts though, I wonder how I'll manage to get some sleep tonight.

So the other day a friend of mine came by the house, asking for some help with a song she had written a couple of years ago but never finished it. I manged to slip in some more chords than the I-V she had there, but hell, I couldn't get her to put in a nice…

A post to end all posts...

Not really.

But, some thoughts to start my refreshment of mind:

1.  Somewhere as we swim upstream against all hope on a journey to better ourselves, one will find happiness.

2.  Nightmare Before Christmas is great listening no matter what time of year.

3.  Shostakovich will inspire me no matter how frustrated I become.

4.  Remember that most of what you need is just out of reach, which makes them all the more useful.

5. …

Thoughts #1

This is the first blog bost I write here, so I believe some kind of introduction is in order...Nah, screw that, I bet you already know my name, it is somewhere around the page you ae reading right now.

Writing down thoughs is what I pan to use this blog space, starting with this post. Read at your own risk-I am not to be held responsible for any exessive boredom this posts cause.

I just fired up a beethoven sonata while thinking about this blog post, the 13th,…

Fourth Blog

I have been here for like over a week or so, people are very helpful here! Wanted to express thanks for that!

In the meanwhile I got some ideas as how to make the sounds of my music better, so I can post it here without a shame because it sounds so awful compared with all the other music here on this site. Funny that I first really thought that it has been performed live or recorderded as it sounds so real.

Right now I am not really making new stuff, just going through the old…
