" Wake Up My Love," A Choral Work.

Hi all. I'm drawing to a close on my choral work, "Wake Up My Love," taken from a larger poem called, "Theme Of Companionship." I hope to have it all ready for performers and performance by the fall. It's structure consists of quartal harmonies in the piano intro followed by a D-mixolydian- D minor choral passage for the first line of text, extended outward. Then, there's a very sophisticated cluster filled choral passage under a simple, simple piano accompaniment (practically no piano at all).… Continue

Orchestral Music

It seems in these parts orchestral efforts count for something. So I've posted the first two movements of what I consider my symphony, Yesterday is History and Tomorrow is a Mystery. I've already posted the third (final) movement, Today is a Gift. That's the order in which they should be heard, Yesterday, Tomorrow and then Today, it's all about living in the now. This piece was based on a sentence of psychobabble that I appreciate, "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift,… Continue

Big Fun Next Weekend!!!

I'm really excited to be doing music and sound design on a team for this year's 48 Hour Film Project in NYC! I can't imagine what it'll be like to work on such a schedule, but I'm sure it'll be quite the experience. Wish us luck!

Live Messenger

Taking time to say a hello to the Forum! I've been listening to a lot of the wonderful music uploaded to the site. I have been working on editing instrumental parts and have the browser open listening to a Forum composer as I do the tedious, time-consuming work.

I use Windows Live Messenger and it is generally up and running while I'm sitting at the computer. The email address is: . If the software is showing me as "Busy" please go ahead and… Continue

Bassoon Piece Update

My piece for bassoon, "Departure, 10:49pm", was performed to a warm reception on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to be there - I have bronchitis! The Marketing Director of the ACO told me that people really loved the piece, which I'm happy about :) And there's a recording coming my way, which I'll put up as soon as I get it.

In other news, I finally completed a choral piece I'd started last January called "Kono Yoru (This Night)", which along with two other works ("Live… Continue

I finished the piece right on time! It's called "Departure, 10:49pm", and is meant to evoke the end of a long day in NYC, coming home from Penn Station on the late train. (I write what I know!)

I'll post it as soon as its completely finalized, I'm waiting for it to be critiqued. But hurray!
