Underground River Ride
This is a piece for solo piano, inspired by the Indiana Jones movies and other adventurous shows like Jonny Quest. Imagine a chase scene with bad guys chasing good guys through a raging underground river with all sorts of obstacles and dangers on the way. There are two melodies - the main melody is in the base line (to reflect the underground river) and a secondary melody in the top notes of the chords played in the treble clef as accompaniment.…

Alienus
After doing a couple pieces for larger musical groups, I decided to bring it down a bit by composing for smaller ensembles. My next piece Alienus, a Latin word for strange, is a contemporary composition with the orchestration for a Woodwind Quartet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon) and piano.
This piece is entirely based off the interval the Augmented Fourth, more commonly known as the Tritone. Being one of my favorite intervals, I emphasize this a lot in the piece. It…

Eerie Moonlight
So after composing a concert band chart, orchestral piece, and a woodwind quartet score, I decided my next challenge would be for a string ensemble piece. So its no surprise my next piece, Eerie Moonlight, is directed for a string ensemble (2 violins, viola, cello, and bass) and piano.
Eerie Moonlight is different from any other piece I have composed. It is, like its title states, very eerie and creepy. The piano starts off the piece with a small musical phrase being…

Passage to Wonders
Today, in the music world, there are more orchestras out there than you or I could even imagine. So I thought why not compose an orchestral composition for my next piece? Who knows, this piece might just end up going to the London Symphony orchestra. Well, probably not, but it was still worth the effort. The next piece I composed was orchestrated for an orchestra and is entitled Passage to Wonders.
This piece begins very dramatically with the stringed instruments…

Seasons of the Ocean
After months of theory and composition study, I've finally decided to undergo the task of composing an actual piece of mine. I chose a concert band instrumentation because being a member of a concert band, this is a familiar ground for me. This piece is entitled Seasons of the Ocean.
It begins nice and slow as I give a small introduction of my main theme with the woodwinds. A drum break enters picking up the tempo and a quick chromatic run with the saxophones open my main…

Still alive
So it's been ages that I logged in here. Lots of things have been going on , good and bad. Lucky some of those things were music as well.
When I joined this forum last year I just started to venture beyond my edm work and tried to get into writing 'music for the media'. In this relative short time I actually managed to even make some progress although I unfortunately couldn't focus on it 100%.
The most interesting thing that happened was getting a shot at doing the music for a…

What music you think is essential for any music lover to hear?
Everyday I try to list to something new, whether it is something classical or jazz or rock, etc.
As it is impossible to hear it all (and also to get to know everything), I would like to know what you people think that is essential to hear during your lifetime.
To be more practical and varied, let's post 5-10 things classical compositions, 5-10 jazz albums, 5-10 rock albums and/or whatever you feel it is essential!!!!
Here's my…

My choral piece is finally finished
so after a long month of writing and trying to figure out how to write out what I hear in my head I finally finished my choral piece. You will notice there is no recording. Thats because I cannot create a mock up of this piece due to the nature of the piece. Im just posting the PDF here until I can get it read.
