Can you recommend prospective examiners for this doctoral study?

Hello, I will be submitting my work and exegesis for a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in a few months. It has to do with the establishment of a field of study in COMPOSING WITH STYLES AND GENRES. It includes major and minor compositions demonstrating the practice with an exegesis containing an intro, methodology, background, analyses, an auto ethnographic essay, and a glossary of the practice as an initial taxonomy. Lenny Nelson: Jazz Master Drummer and Educator

Lenny is a guy I met in the early 90s in Boston when I was at Berklee College of Music. My roomate at that time, French jazz drummer Dominique Schlocker, met Lenny one day down in the drum practice shed area, he was just lurking around and feeding energy to practicing drummers. I remember Dominique came home and told me about his surreal meeting with this guy who was way too old to be a student and was just hanging out, jumping up and down (literally) outside his drum shed in excitement…

LA Scoring Strings ... Full TILT!

Hi all,

Well I've realised that my LASS demos have received a lot of attention so I thought I'd post up something new with them.

Although this new piece is scored with just LASS (and a tiny dash of Cinesamples' Cineharp glissandi) it is also really demonstrating the strength of a new library of Impulse Responses called FORTI.

Composing with Styles and Genres

Hello all, I am interested in corresponding with other composers who engage in composing with styles and genres. THis is the subject of my doctoral study where I differentiate between poly-stylism which is a common enough occurence, and poly genre music that gives two or more genre SIGNALS in the music. Frozen wastes and expanding waists!

I've recently been working on a project that could become a TV documentary series, covering the exploits of a bunch of admirable chaps who are setting out for Antarctica in December to reclaim a speed record from the Norwegians for reaching the South Pole via Scott's infamous Beardmore Glacier route. It has been 3 months since my last post, so thought I'd finally get round to updating it...

Since the last post I have finished the string quartet I was working on, which I am very happy with. The entire piece is about 15 minutes long, and I'm looking forward to hear it performed.
