These are my personal favorites, these are not cinematic media music. They are just songs, but for me, they mean a lot. While listening these songs gave me goosebumps. I think you should check them out. Although I do apologize if they are not in y...

I just posted 6 new songs I wrote because I just got Mp-3's of them to put up here. Give a listen and tell me what you think. I enjoy songwriting but don't get to do it often - here is the best of my work in this genre! ENJOY

Hey man - I totally understand. I try to run a big band - and wow - that can really be financially frightening. You're right - you can't use horns on the recording and not on the road - the few people that pay attention to that have a tendency to get mad.

Hey - no worries, you've gained a fan & there's always the future - when we're both rock stars and money ain't no thang!

Take it easy & many blessing for the future of your music.

Shane.

DUDE!!!! Great Stuff - ok - I'm serious - have you ever thought about adding a few horns to the mix? If you have the right guy writing it - it's nothing but icing on the cake! Just a thought - music is always ever-expanding - in the right hands.

Cool stuff - I'm diggin' it!

About Me:
Born in the concrete jungle of New York City, and raised in a revolving door of homes in New Jersey, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Ohio, and Massachusetts, singer/songwriter David Gielan paid his musical dues early on. With a wide range of ability, Gielan cultivated a rich, musical foundation at the legendary, Manhattan School of Music, studying Jazz instrumentation for the bass guitar under bass virtuoso Victor L. Wooten, best known for his work with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. David, equally skilled at singing, guitar, violin, piano, drums, and producing, furthered his playing and burgeoning songwriting at Berklee College of Music, whose attendees include Grammy-winning and multi-platinum artists Paula Cole and John Mayer.

In-between his rigorous training and solo material, Gielan was picked up by East Coast garage band favorite Gizmo, touring the United States at the tender age of 14. While the other members of Gizmo were well into their twenties, David held his own, playing famous jaunts such as Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club and sharing bills with Indie Rock darlings Trans Am (Thrill Jockey). Moving deeper into Jazz, Rock, Funk, Blues, Acoustic, and Electronic mediums that which would eventually become his trademark sound, Bishop set off on tours of his own, even opening up for RCA/BMG recording artists Vertical Horizon, all before his 18th birthday.

David, tired by the confines of merely being a bass player and ready to become a full-time singer/songwriter, headed west, landing in Los Angeles. Backed by a mainstay of musicians that includes the Samples' Ted Wheaton, David quickly moved up the scene's musical ranks, playing packed shows at all of L.A.'s premiere venues - The Sunset Room, The Roxy, The Whisky, and The Viper Room - and clearing his merchandise, including 2005' self-released CD, Idealab. Reviewing a recent show at the Knitting Factory, MusicHighway.com's Amanda Turner Manning wrote, " I will be looking out for David's next gig and future success. Picking up the acoustic guitar, and accompanying his band, David Gielan performs like a true front-man should, capturing our attention with the depth of his vocal inflections and huge range, not to mention great looks!"

David continues to develop a loyal following statewide, garnering 6000 hits per month on his website www.davidgielan.com alone. Eric Jordan of Flynet Media Group said, " David Gielan's music is well-composed and his vocal range is astonishing. If we offered record deals, he would be the first to receive one. David is definitely the new artist to look for in 2008."

After leaving his former band, "Simple 6", at the end of 2006, David has been playing select show dates in Southern California and touring nationally in addition to fronting the dynamo modern rock band "Oh Crap! Ninjas". He has also added some new eclectic sounds to his live show and each performance is one not to be missed.

Feeling a little stumped

Being a songwriter who derives material strictly from inspiration, I find myself having a rough time with it lately. My solo material and my rock material are very different from eachother and I am feeling a little trapped by the band that I am spending most of my time focusing on. There is a fair amount of pressure to continue writing for the rock band and my personal material is falling by the waist side. In addition, I find that listening to a someone else's song, spurs my excitement and fuel… Continue
