The second movement of the String Octet.

It's perhaps a near miss, or a glancing collision, with minimalism.…

Fugue.. alas, the forgotten art.

It seems that in our modern time, interest in the fugal discipline is all but forgotten. With so few allusions to the topic on this board, I thought I might post one of my own examples of this rarest…Continue

Just a little rough draft (now 2nd draft, actually) of a first movement. Normally, I would not consider this derivative little piece of Baroque pastiche of great enough compositional importance or…Continue

About Me (Must include at least one paragraph of biographical information about you as a composer) - blank or minimal answers on this line will cause your request to be rejected. Include a link to your website if you have one.
I write mostly solo harpsichord music, and some synthesizer works, and have done so in earnest for slightly less than 20 years after a nearly decade long hiatus.

I have experimented extensively with alternate temperaments, tunings, modal systems, and whatnot. I listen to a great deal more classical Indian music than my discussions on the forum would indicate, and suspect that this influence informs my compositions in subtle ways, or so I've been told. Some prominent compositional influences are Dufay, Tallis, Byrd, Gibbons, Frescobaldi, Bach. There are others, but this box is only so big.

Although I do not consider them strong compositional influences, I enjoy the music of Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Brahms, et al, very much. I'm sure some of these influences soak into the writing through osmosis -it's unavoidable- but tenuously enough to be nearly indiscernible

Computer science.

PLease google for it, it makes is perfectly comprehensible. I post you a short lecture I had about Gödel and his proof. ANy thoughts or objections?

https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fri_vilja

Been%20There%20-%20Piano%20score.pdfGreetings  Kristofer,

Thanks so much for listening. Here is the score I just put together from my Pro tools session. If it too crazy, I can resole it to eight notes rather than sixteenths.

Let me know if it works for you.

Very best,

Larry Elliott
