while we have never met - since you were gone from UA shortly before i got there in '78, I thought i would introduce myself as another Alabama product of Steve's. I have heard your name many many times from the slightly older guys - Stevie Jr, Mart Avant, Ben McCoy etc. i thought I would say hello and welcome!
Wow, 30 years! Time fly's when you're having fun. I heard that you had taken the NYC financial scene to anew level so I'm happy to see that you're stick pickin' & grinnin'. It seems the UofA JE contingency has been able to cope quite well in NYC. Do you ever have any contact with Birch Johnson, Ricky Reed, Tommy Blackwell or Bethany? Have you heard Gene Bertoncini? I know he would be interested in your seven string guitar.
I have found my Nirvana up here in the Pacific Northwest. Great weather, beautiful environment and no Aladambama red necks or their politics. I, as #1 son, whom you lovingly referred to as "Thiunder Thumbs," reminded me, now have a trombone for everyone of my years.
Recently I heard a perfect analogy for all of us trying to catch up, "when BBQing an elephant, it's best to just do a little bit at a time."
Take care, more later
