Yes, I know lots of people in L.A. are looking forward to the day they can permanently "get out of town." That's why everyone looks at me like I'm some kind of nut case when I tell them I'm heading back to L.A. after 15 years in the Bay Area.
I was born and raised in L.A. and although I don't miss the traffic congestion or the smog, I do miss the people -- my networks of friends, relatives, business associates, etc., that really signify what a city means to you.
